Columbus 1-0 DC United

One Christmas, probably 1991, we stayed at a relative's house, and one of the presents I got was a Super Nintendo game. Which was strange, because I didn't have an SNES.

We drove home later that day, and we opened some more presents, supposedly left at home because we needed room in the car to fit the gifts for our cousins. One big box was, actually, a Super Nintendo. Another was a 286, the first color PC I ever had. No one else on my block would have a personal home computer as advanced as ours for the next three years, at least.

All nice gifts, and I was very happy. Ever since then, though, I knew I didn't deserve any of it. I had been spoiled that Christmas.

That's almost exactly what yesterday feels like.
